‘Colchester Past & Present’ by Colin McAllister and Tina Bullen

In November, Level Best will be hosting the art exhibition ‘Colchester Past & Present’ which celebrates Colchester’s rich history.

With the transition from town to city now complete, the exhibition, ‘Colchester: Past and Present’, is a timely examination of how Colchester has changed.

The exhibition shines a light on the old town and the new city in a mix of ink and oils, with artwork from both Tina Bullen and Colin McAllister (who happens to be a part of our Art business enterprise delivery team at Level Best!).

Colin, likes to record what has passed and is passing. He has documented his hometown of Colchester in black and white ink drawings since 2008, focusing on buildings that have ceased their original function and face renovation or demolition.

In contrast, Tina’s work is a collection of oil paintings that lovingly reflects aspects of Colchester’s present: its vibrant music scene and nightlife, the woodland, and its urban skies.

Available to view throughout the month of November, we’d love to see you pop in during the week and take a look!
