Brand Asset Blue Yellow

We are a social enterprise project started by the Dacon Trust, whose purpose is to offer genuine and meaningful work skills training opportunities to adults and young people with learning disabilities.

In our Colchester hub, Trainees are inspired to achieve their Level Best through growing, making, baking and creating – with our team of volunteers and staff encouraging them every step of the way.

Level Best Enterprises is home to over 70 Trainees and delivers more than 185 sessions each week.

The sessions are designed to encourage independence, creativity and develop work skills such as teamwork, time management and relationship building. The sessions cover four key areas, including cooking, making, gardening and creating, enabling trainees to explore their talents and gain valuable work experience across each of the organisation’s main enterprises.

Trainees are invited to spend time learning an exciting range of skills across each of the four enterprises and receive extensive training which can be applied outside of Level Best.

Our Enterprise Hub on St John’s Street, Colchester, is the ideal place for Trainees to experience a variety of work and life skills opportunities, ranging from face-to-face customer interaction in the café or event marketing for the art gallery.

Everything we do at Level Best Enterprises centres around our Trainees. From growing fresh ingredients on our allotment, to serving front of house, cooking and creating produce, or creating art, every Trainee is encouraged to try new things and discover where their interests and strengths lie.

Lovely cafe. Staff were helpful and cheerful. Cheese scone and a coffee great value. Highly recommend. Plus a bonus of looking round the Art gallery. The sun is shining today and very nice outside seating. Support local. If I were a parent of a young person working or training here I would be very proud.
